With over 13 years in the heavy transport industry, Lewis has built his career from the ground up, starting straight out of school at 18 and working his way through to Class 5. From early days in stock trucks and bulk bins to civil work and seasonal viticulture runs, he’s never been one to shy away from hard work or new challenges.
Lewis Jackman spent five years running freight the length of the South Island, cutting his teeth on everything from tight coastal routes to the demanding West Coast roads and alpine passes. It’s the kind of experience that teaches you more than just how to drive - it builds resilience, sharp decision-making, and real respect for the road.
From there, he moved into milk tankers, operating in both farm-to-factory and factory-to-factory roles for Westland Milk Products and Fonterra. Covering routes from Darfield through to Edendale, he handled time-critical loads where consistency, care, and reliability aren’t optional - they’re expected.
After stepping away briefly to focus on starting a family, Lewis returned to the industry with the same drive, eventually moving into forestry transport - something he’d had his sights on for years. He now runs log trucks across South Canterbury and Otago, hauling from forests to mills and ports, and thrives in the hands-on, no-nonsense nature of the work.
Over the years, he’s driven a wide range of gear, gaining experience across different setups and conditions, but if you ask him, nothing quite beats time behind the wheel of a Scania or a Kenworth. That’s where he’s most at home.
Known for his strong work ethic, adaptability, and straight-up reliability, he’s taken every opportunity to learn and improve along the way. Now, as he steps into owner-operator, he is focused on building strong, long-term working relationships within the industry. Lewis offers a dependable, professional service backed by real-world experience across multiple transport sectors.
